GRAPAT (which means “a handful” in Catalan) was born as a humble family project by husband-and-wife team Casiana and Jordi. After observing their young children playing with simple, everyday objects in creative and ingenious ways, they began creating ‘loose parts’ and offering them with love into the hands of children.
They are inspired by nature and children and work at the service of childhood, to create open-ended sets that foster explorative playtimes that are free from expectations or judgement. Their creations come without instructions or limits and their motto is “be free, play open!”
The details… GRAPAT is handcrafted in Europe, primarily in Spain. Made of wood from sustainable forests that is PEFC certified, dyes that are water based and non-toxic, and vegetable based, oil and wax finishes.

Our modern reality includes a lot of overwhelm: screens everywhere, loud plastic toys, and just a general sense of “more, more, more.” We believe that the most joy comes from going back to the basics – so we source lots of products & toys that will help your littles experience that joy, too.
Our founder's #1 job is being a mom – a huge reason why she started Chicke in the first place! Everything in the shop is chosen with your kids in mind – whether it’s the coziest clothing made from all natural materials or developmentally appropriate toys that are going to help grow their love of play.
